Suspension Bridge-Tamparuli

London has its Tower Bridge, San Francisco is famous for its Golden Gate Bridge, and Sabah although lesser well known, is famous for its Tamparuli Suspension Bridge. This suspension bridge is located at Tamparuli town, a small town 30 minutes away from Kota Kinabalu by car, and many travellers may pass through here while on their way to Mt. Kinabalu, and Poring Hot Spring.

The local Kadazandusun tribe has been using suspension bridges for ages, crossing the many rivers generated by the Crocker Ranger. Even though the Tamparuli Bridge is not the original one, as floods after floods had eventually damaged the old one. After a few reconstructions the present bridge is a new one, which was completed just a few years ago.

A walk across the Tamparuli Suspension Bridge gives one an edgy feeling, as one can feel the bridge swings and sways. For people who are used to solid ground this can be an interesting walk. And for those who have height phobia this would be an ultimate challenge.

The unique and low one way bridge further down is also been used for more than 5 decades, and during the raining seasons, especially after a heavy down pour, water level occasionally rose above the bridge. Vehicles would not be passable, and those who brave the currents, many times ended up having their cars or even trucks being swept away by the raging Kiulu river and many had lost their lives.

If you happen to have a spare time during your weekend, you guys should have a family leisure vacation to visit the suspension bridge which is located in Tamparuli Town area that will absolutely brings joy and unforgettable memories in mind.

Note that the road from Kudat is partially unpaved, and judging from the way things are, it will take some time before the current road resurfacing project to fully complete. Just get ready for some bumpy and unpleasant rides on the gravel road.

In general, Kudat is located some 3 hours to the north of Kota kinabalu. It is best to rent a car from Kota Kinabalu for a self-drive tour to Kudat and its vicinity. Taekwondo Martial Art

As a student in second semester, we have been given an assignment for our communication skill 2 to prepare within 9 post in order to contribute marks for our final semester. With that, i am very delightful to begin with "Taekwondo Martial Art" for my first post itself.

Taekwondo today has become one of the favourite sports in all ages around the world and even in our own country Malaysia. Taekwondo martial art was originally came from Korea and was famous among the sports. Taekwondo is a Korean martial art and the national sport of South Korean. In Korean, tae means "to strike or break with foot" kwon means "to strike or break with fist"and do means "way," "method," or "art." Thus, "taekwondo" may be loosely translated as "the way of the foot and fist" or "the way of kicking and punching."

In Malaysia nowadays, Taekwondo sports has been taken into sport account due to its high demand and great performances shown by those athletic such as Novie Gambus from Ranau. She was one of the taekwondo athlete which had contribute a gold medal back to in a year of 2006 in the competition of SUKMA (Sukan Malaysia). In short, she managed to brought a joyful to Sabah as well as Malaysian's name.
Unlike the other martial art sport, for instance Karate. Karate martial art is actually only apply on punching rather than kicking or back spining. The reason why Taekwondo are more prefer by the people is because it applies punching, kicking as well as countering and attacking.

They are 6 stages all together in order to achieve (1st DAN - 8 DAN Blackbelt holder). Those stages are white belt, yellow belt, green belt, blue belt, red belt and finally Black belt. Each of the colour belt will have to go through an exam in order to hold a new colour blelt. Once you have reach to the level of black belt you are then automatically hold the name of "1st Dan" 1st Dan holder usually will become an assistant coach. On the other hand, if you have reach the level of 7 Dan and above you are then will become a master coach as well.

Taekwondo martial art sports is simply an enjoy and fun to involve in. It even leads you to become a discipline person.

Kinabalu Park

First of all, i am still new in this blog..hmm...The important thing is that, im here to complete the task that given by my lecturer Ms. freda to list and elaborate@ comment within 5 attracted places in order to contribute 20% mark for our Communication skill 1. Anyway, i chosed to picked the places in Sabah because i think that, as a malaysian we should put our own country in the 1st place rather than others. For me, i would prefer to chosed Sabah as we knew that, Sabah or Malaysia in the other words has now proclaimed to be the best travelling for nature lovers.

As we all knows that, Kinabalu Park is strategically locating in the state of Sabah on the northern and ends in the islands of the Borneo. As for the tourist, this is the place where registration is being taken in order to climb the Mt. Kinabalu with its height of 4095M which is known to be the highest mountain between the himalayas and New Guinea. As for your the information that i managed to collect, the manager of Mt. Kinabalu which is Sutera Sanctuary Lodges has now only promoting the 3D2N Mt. Kinabalu Climb instead of 2D1N Mt. Kinabalu Climb. Besides that, the price has also risen to MYR800.00-MYR1000.00 per person.

As you all can see, this is the example picture that was being taken from distance of Mt. Kinabalu. In order for everyone to climb the mountain, you have to be fit and tough enough physically and mentally ready. This climb normally will only allows you to climb within 2 days to reach the Low's Peak. HOwever, the 1st day you will be staying at Kinabalu Park area for your own leisure time, the 2nd day you will be climb 1600M to reach at the base camp which we call it as Laban Rata Resthouse. The final day, you are asked to wake up as early as 0300hrs to start your climb to the summit.

Most of the climbers prefer to stay overnight in this resthouse as it offers you with the only heated room available as non to the rest. Apart from that, canteen are also available in this resthouse itself.

Apart from that, Kinabalu Park is also well known towards the "Botanical Garden".

This 5 acre is an excellent showcase of the diverse plant life on the mountain, The flora from all over the park has been replanted. Apart from that, many of the plants are not only lovely to look upon but they have medical value too. Those plant has been proven by the local Dusun community also.
